The 1st International Conference on Loss Prevention, Process Safety, and Thermal Analysis in Chemical and Coal Industries（LPPSTA2019）co-sponsored by Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Xi'an University of Science and Technology, and Nanjing Tech University was successfully held at Yunlin University of Science and Technology. More than 160 delegates from the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Hungary, China, and other countries and regions attended the conference for academic communication, which greatly promoted the development of the research filed of industrial process safety and emergency management. The 1st International Conference on Coal Fire Disaster Prevention and Control was jointly initiated by Xinjiang University and Xi'an University of Science and Technology in 2020, which greatly promoted the development of theory and technology in prevention and control of coal fire hazards.
Following the success of LPPSTA 2019 and the 1st International Conference on Coal Fire Disaster Prevention and Control, the 2nd International Conference on Loss Prevention, Process Safety, and Thermal Analysis in Chemical and Coal Industries (LPPSTA 2021) will continue to be held in Xi'an, China, September 24-26, 2021. The conference is on the safety and emergency research field of the mine safety, chemical process safety, urban security. New theories, methods and technologies, as well as latest progress and research directions are invited for communication. Meanwhile, to encourage and support young scholars who have made outstanding contributions in the field of industrial process safety, the conference set up the Mannan Award (Dr. M. Sam Mannan is an outstanding pioneer in global industrial process safety). The Best Paper Award, the Best Report Award, and the Best Poster Award are also set up.
